Our commitment
Modern slavery statement
How we work to prevent modern slavery and exploitation in our business.
Published: 10 October 2026
Waymark Care Services Limited is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains. Although we are below the turnover threshold that makes a statement mandatory under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we publish this statement voluntarily because the care sector carries real risks of labour exploitation, and we believe transparency matters.
Our business
We are a Hull-based company providing care staffing to care homes and supported living providers, and preparing to provide domiciliary care. Our workforce is recruited locally and our main suppliers are training providers, insurers, IT and software providers, and office services.
Our approach to recruitment
- We check every worker's identity and right to work in the UK against original documents, in line with Home Office guidance.
- We never charge work-seekers fees for finding them work, in line with the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003.
- We pay workers directly into their own bank accounts, and we look out for warning signs such as several workers sharing one account or address, or a third party controlling a worker's documents or pay.
- We pay at least the National Minimum Wage, including for travel time between visits where applicable.
- Workers receive written terms and are free to leave their work with reasonable notice.
Sponsored workers
If we sponsor workers under the Skilled Worker route, we will meet our sponsor duties in full, never pass on prohibited costs, and make sure sponsored workers receive the pay and hours set out in their certificate of sponsorship.
Training and reporting
Our managers receive training on recognising signs of modern slavery and exploitation, and our safeguarding procedures include how to report concerns. Anyone can raise a concern with us confidentially at admin@waymarkcare.co.uk, or contact the Modern Slavery & Exploitation Helpline on 08000 121 700. In an emergency, call 999.
Review
We will review this statement at least once a year.
